BILL ADAMSON
Senior Associate Consultant

Mr. Adamson has more than twelve years of experience in the health care industry in senior management positions in Management Service Organizations, IPAs, and consulting services. He brings to pmpm® Consulting Group, Inc. strong facilitation and negotiation skills and a practical approach to achieving the best possible outcomes in physician organization restructuring, mergers, and consolidations. His administrative roles in heavily capitated markets enables him to assist clients in evaluating and restructuring their organizations by applying “best practice” methodologies to achieve revenue enhancement and cost reduction critical to financial solvency.

Mr. Adamson, in his role as CEO of St. Joseph’s Medical Resources, Inc. (a physician group and IPA management company), was instrumental in the expansion of that entity from managing a single medical group to managing more than eighty primary care physicians, three medical groups and five IPAs. He was responsible for the management of over 100,000 managed care lives for global risk capitation contracts. Managing all phases of operations for the IPAs, Mr. Adamson successfully implemented the corrective action plans necessary to bring these entities into compliance with the licensing and regulatory requirements to pass all audits of HCFA sponsored programs. He also served as the Administrator of the Marin IPA, a 298 physician multi-specialty organization.

As a Senior Manager for BDC Advisors, Mr. Adamson specialized in developing integrated delivery systems and IPAs, as well as group practice operations. He provided leadership to the start-up, management, and growth of both a large IPA and several integrated medical groups. He also organized and administered a primary care network as an alternative to IPA contracting.

Mr. Adamson is the co-author of “Special Issues of Ambulatory Capitation” as published in The Capitation Sourcebook, and, although he does not hold a current license, he has practiced as a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr.Adamson’s extensive, hands-on developmental and operational experience is available to pmpm® clients to provide interim executive leadership, and/or to build, consolidate or expand their businesses. We are pleased to have an affiliate relationship with Mr. Adamson.
