Hospital/Physician Relations

pmpm® has worked with hospitals to develop, redefine, and/or restructure their relationships with physicians, and we have worked with numerous physician groups to identify and implement strategies for enhancing their financial and operational performance. We recognize that it is imperative to first gain insights into the physician/hospital environment, and test the motivation of all parties to function in concert. Cookie-cutter solutions do not work when dealing with hospital/physician relations — whether the issue at hand is resolving a contract dispute, forging a new business relationship, or developing a strategy to turnaround failing financial performance.

We clearly articulate the relationship issue from the perspective of all key stakeholders, and identify and work with those stakeholders to evaluate the options for issue resolution. We develop strategic organization or restructure plans, including contract terms and conditions, in conjunction with legal counsel, and facilitate their implementation. We provide assistance with regulatory processes when required. We work with hospital/physician client to establish appropriate communication, reporting, and monitoring processes, and develop hospital/physician staff preparation programs to achieve and maintain the most cooperative alliances possible.
