Principal, Vice President of Technology Services

Ms. Schamus has more than 30 years of healthcare experience, including 15 years in senior leadership roles. She has expertise in systems efficiency analysis, electronic data interchange (EDI), systems implementation, integration and migration, and data analytics for Healthplans, MSOs, IPAs, and medical groups. Additionally, she has extensive experience in developing startup plans for Healthplan and medical group operations.

Prior to her appointment as Vice President of Technology Services, Ms. Schamus worked with pmpm® clients to create effective business processes that promoted strategic initiatives and developed roadmaps for creating successful solutions to issues discovered in IT/IS process assessments.

Prior experience includes roles as the IS Director for Employee Health Systems, Acting Director of Operations of WellPoint's HCTN unit, Owner of Rx Systems, and Extension Instructor at LA Pierce College. In these roles Ms. Schamus designed and implemented a SQL-based provider web portal producing significant cost savings and enhanced responsiveness, implemented fast computer network infrastructure, improved reporting timeliness and quality company-wide, directed EDI operational teams, managed transitions of IT/IS systems during mergers and acquisitions, managed a variety of server and data communications systems, and taught courses in Medical Billing, Coding, and PC applications.

Ms. Schamus holder the CPEHR, CPHIE and CPHIT designations, and has earned certifications from Microsoft (MCSE) and Novell. Ms. Schamus is an active participant in collaborative groups working to improve healthcare EDI standards and certification practices. Ms. Schamus is an active member of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). She also holds the Managed Care certification from the Health Insurance Association of America (HIAA). Ms. Schamus obtained her nursing diploma in Ottowa, Canada and has held licensure through the College of Nurses of Ontario. Her wide-ranging experience is a great asset to pmpm® and its clients.
